Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the result. We do not keep a separate log or stored copy of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email is retained as needed to prepare a reply. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical and usage details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, navigation, and page use. Analytics providers combine those signals into aggregate reports. A browser can block cookies, although parts of the site may then work differently.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Montgomery County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes routing information for Montgomery County courts, police departments, the correctional facility, the Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and the Pennsylvania State Police Megan's Law Public Website. Visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the selected provider's privacy policy. Each partner sets its own retention and sharing rules, which are outside our control. Read that policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Montgomery County offices, Pennsylvania court and agency portals, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal data.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect the information collected here. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so a breach cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights beyond this policy. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101 et seq., governs requests to public agencies, while 18 Pa.C.S. § 9121 controls PSP dissemination of criminal-history information. Those public-record laws do not turn this private site into a government record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
